Regulatory Impact Statement. Required for all proposals submitted to Cabinet which are to result in legislation, subject to defined exceptions. Must contain a statement of:
- the nature and magnitude of the problem and the need for Government action
- the public policy objectives
- feasible options that may constitute viable means for achieving the desired objectives
- the net benefit of the proposal, including the total regulatory costs and benefits
- the consultative programme undertaken
